Welcome to the TroutSouth website. If you can't be out fishing we invite you to make yourself at home and enjoy our site. You can get ideas of where to go for your next angling trip, obtain timely information on what's happening on various waters and peruse the southern books, videos, maps and hatch charts that might help you be better prepared overall. You can also subscribe to TroutSouth, the award-winning southern trout journal published in printed form each quarter, and available only by subscription. By exploring our site you can discover more about the journal and what sets it apart from every other trout publication in the country. You also have access to a sample story from a recent issue (Vol. 4, No. 1 -- Fall 1998).

On the "Current/Back Issues" page, you can review the index of contents from back issues since TroutSouth's founding in 1995. The "Reports from the Water" page brings you timely reports on conditions in various tailwaters and mountain watersheds around the region, while the "State-By-State Information" page provides you hot links into the respective state fisheries organizations.

"The Southern Trout Catalog," a subsidiary of TroutSouth, provides one-stop shopping for virtually every book, map, video and hatch chart related to southern trout fishing that is commercially available. We first published the catalog after realizing there was no bookstore, fly shop or library one could visit to view and choose from everything that's available on this region. There is also a list of links to various sites of interest to trout anglers.

This site will forever be a work in progress as all good Web sites are, so we welcome your feedback.

Offshore banking, by its very definition, is a bank that is located outside the depositor’s country of residence. Offshore banking, by its very definition, is a bank that is located outside the depositor’s country of residence. More times than not, this involves a country whose tax jurisdiction is more favorable than one home banks. There are also legal benefits and more importantly privacy not available at home. While the entire industry suffers from a cloak and dagger type status, there are legitimate reasons for using offshore banking, offshore trusts, and offshore corporations to an individual’s or company’s advantage. Most think of low profile millionaires whose road to wealth is somewhat questionable but consider the alternative. There are areas of the world where offshore banking is safer than the political climate of one’s homeland. Would you want to be a depositor in any Russian bank in the roaring 90’s? Maybe you are a wealthy sugarcane farmer in a third world country in the Mediterranean; would you trust your local currency to your state run bank? Also consider the ability of lower cost banks in other regions being able to offer better rates than available at your local bank, is it worth the risk? This is going to depend on you doing your homework. One downside is the typical offshore bank is remote, so access to information can be difficult.
